Not sure if there is any interest here for a foreigner's guide to the Tokyo sex scene, but I thought I'd share my experience with you all just in case

Starting with the obvious, if you speak Japanese you will have a MUCH easier time. Even better if you can read as well.

But if not, don't fret. I know a couple of places that do not care where you are from. however it is best to practice a couple phrases, just because it could come in handy.

First there are three main types of Fuzouku (sex shop) that I have been to:

Soap Land

Health

Massage (happy ending)

The first one is hard to go to if you are not Japanese, regardless if you speak fluently. This is due to the misconception that non-Japanese are "dirty" and have STD. Even though this view exists, after a couple calls I found a Soap Land that would take me, albeit they charged an extra 10,000. Soap Land are the only of the three where you can have actual sex and falls into a grey space in Japanese anti-prostitution law.

My recommendation is that unless you have cash to blow and speak good Japanese, don't bother. You can get same service at any of the nuru massage places (found on the forum) for half the price. However, the Japanese Soap parlor girls know their stuff so it is worth the try just once (for those wealthy bros)
