Dude, the 2 areas are the worst you have mentioned. Apocalypse Now FLs are asking for easily USD$100 ST. This is because they target alot of foreignors. Pham Ngu Lao is the unsafest place. Cage is caters to mostly Expats and young professionals. Not sure if they have FLs. If all else fails go to 49,51,91 Hai Ba Trung D1 ( Parallel to Thai Van Lung, 2 roads away.) Go in, buy a beer, pick a girl that catches your eye, buy her a ladies' drink, if have chemistry, pay bar fine, pay mummy for the girl, off you go. If no chemistry, repeat the whole process again. Simple and hassle free.

Actually, gg to district 10/11 will be relatively cheaper than the hotspot area district 1.. Cos lesser foreigners around ma.. My virgin trip to HCM before meeting the seniors, I was brought to D10 by a viet girl known in Singapore.. Spent 4 hours in a saloon, did mani, pedi, facial, haircut, color plus treatment, drinks and fruits for only 350,000VND.. If you were to do it in Sg, it would cost you EXPRESS mani (10), EXPRESS pedi (15), facial (30), haircut (30), bleach n color plus treatment (100).. total will be S$185 compared to 300,000VND..
However, this is not advisable for newbies cos can easily get lost and kena chopped.. Better to pay more to stick to the upmarket ones around Ben Thanh or Sunflower hotel..
