How do we know if a person is being baned from entering Sillypore?

My gf has a SUAY encounter. few months back, she was having coffee with her friends in a coffee shop. suay suay, a person in civillian clothes asked them for their passports and she was sent up the van with the rest of the gers. When its about time to pick her up, i called her. A guy answered and claimed he is CID asked this and that. say will call me back later. This lasted till 4am.. I told the officer I want to go and clarify that she is my gf and staying at my house. But they told me would call me back again. but the call didnt come. at 7am, my gf called me. told me to pick her up at ICA. She was given a silp to go back to ICA after purchasing air ticket to go back in 2 days time and the officer told her she would require a local sponser if she wants to come back.

During these few months, I have been going up and down to ICA. I have been trying to find out the reason y she was being sent back as she is not a over stayer or WL. But no one is ablt to assist. Not even ICA feebcak e-mail. I filled in the forms and a personal letter of gurantee.

Few days ago, ICA finally replied. said the appeal was not sucessful. The name was correct. But a FIN which does not tally with her passport or ID. Clarified with ICA. they insisted that they did not make any wrong identification. So lan lan.. i have to fill in the forms again and make another trip down to ICA.

Anyone here knows how to see if a person has been baned? Even ICA unable to answer my question... Where would the ban chop be on the passport? She has not done anything wrong. yet caused us so much inconvinence..

Recently wrote a e-mail to ICA's cominisor, seems like he did not get to read the email. as it has been diverted to someone else. I have asked 6 good questions. But only 2 was answered.

Anyone able to give some guidience?

Firstly, was your gf really in the coffee shop when she was "caught" ?
I dun remember the law saying that any foreigner sipping coffee in a coffee shop is illegal.

Secondly, is there a need to indicate in her travel document she was banned? When the ICA computer system link-up at all checkpoint are good enough to monitor access control.
Is it more secure to indicate the banned inside ICA computer system or in her passport? When she could have the possibility to mess with it.

Please also dun go and ask her to buy another passport cos I heard many countries now implement fingerprint identification check during application.

The best advice I can give you is to not get involved with foreign women who come to Singapore for dubious reasons.

Bro, I have that a situation recently. I came back with my foreign business partner & his secretary from KL but was stopped by ICA Tuas as they claim that his secretary stayed more than allowed under Asean agreement for member countries nationals. Accordingly, 60 days is the maximum at any visit & must be out of Sinkapore for 5 days before she can return. What a load of crock ! She didn't even overstayed her tourist visit days. She has a return ticket too when being interviewed by the ICA Duty Officer.

I appealed to ICA but they flatly rejected my appeal even though I wanted to put up a personal guarantee of any amount but they just brushed my appeal aside and said IT'S THE LAW ! They even have the cheek to say that appeals will need 1 month to reply ! Now, that's 1st class efficient for our Sinkapore where the ICA lives by their own rules & fancies.

I lost 2 million dollars on this incident as my business partner wanted to buy a warehouse here but retracted his decision based on ICA's "high-handedness". What a god-damned bummer !

ICA did not "stamped" anything in her passport but recorded her details in their database as she was served with an NTL (Not To Land) on the return day to Singapore after KL & I had to divert her to JB to stay until I can get her a ticket back to her home country.

The NTL is valid for 1 year in their Database & if she were to come back during that period, she may be denied access depending on the Checkpoint's Duty Officer's decision.

All in all, not a good situation to be in as I have learnt this through the hard way. I told ICA that I will never promote Sinkapore to anyone after this incident & the Officer handling my case just smirked & rolled his eyes in a very sarcastic manner. Man, they really make my blood boil again.

Anyway, good luck to your "fight" with them.

I recalled whenever the AV raided Blue Lagoon at Joo Chiat, I still see alot of Viet gals gathering at nearby coffeeshops, Lau Pan Nien. The AV did not come capture them even though a handful of them in revealing clothes and heavy makeup sat around tables without ordering a single drinks.
