If i want to apply for her to stay here and take care of her what are the chances like?

I have seen a leaftlet from DSC that a foreigner tested positive of HIV will be asked to leave Singapore. If a foreigner is working here, his/her employment pass will be cancelled.

Maybe try to call ICA or MOH for your situation. They can assist you further about this matter.

What is your HIV status?

If you are negative, my advice is to dump her and get a new wife who is not infected.

As for you,get urself tested and pray u didnt get infected which is highly unlikely.

Hello TS, i dun think you can be able to bring her here. May I ask are you the HIV positive person and that you've passed on the virus to her? If not, you must go for a complete checkup to see that you are not affected.

Go to Bangkok... u can get better and cheaper medical care there.

the reason why she is required to do a medical is to ensure that she is in the pink of health, which she is not.....she will not be allow to stay long term in SG.

Don't apply for long stay. Just apply for monthly social visit which does not require medical check ups. This way she will be here for as long as she is able to go to ICA to renew her stay. I assuming that you're legally married and has a marriage cert to show to ICA during the renewals.

Anyway, while in SG, how do you intend to take care of her? Medical cost quite a lot. Private doctors may 'keep quiet" but I don't think govt ones will. OR no need treatment? Just to be with her until she develop full blown AIDS and then die?

So think carefully. It might be better for her to be back home in Thailand in her home town where medical is cheaper and she has her family to help take care of her.

Then as what Boss say, get yourself a new wife... unless she's rich and you will inherit a lot.

am sorry to hear abt ur situation...

As far as I know....she will NOT be granted long term, visa or PR....the only way is to get monthly social visits...if u are legally married...easier to get extensions without medical check up needed.

As for advise to get ur self check (if u have not already done so..) pls do so soon....HIV is not curable, but it is containable....and with proper medication nowsadays, u can still expect to live a normal life with treatment and straict medical regime.

As for medical treatment...SG treatment for foreigners is very ex...let alone if CDC will treat her.....better (if she is thai) u stay in BKK and take care of her....medical expenses cheaper in thailand.

medicines for HIV goes into the THOUSANDS per month. Its definitely a financial drain for most except the very rich.

And your chances of getting it from your wife is VERY HIGH if you are banging her. Having sex with an infected person is like russian roulette. It's only a matter of time before you make a mistake or a condom tears and you get infected.

If you don't bang her, well, you should be safe but how can you not bang your wife ???

Actually i think cost for medication if u go for generic drugs (available in thailand) they are less than S$300/mth...

But u do need to go for regular tests and all...

Chances of u getting infected is very high if u do not take precautions....u and ur wife shld be responsible n practise safe sex ...u dun want a child born with HIV do u? It will not be fair most of all to the kid...

Pls do get checked soon....like i said, HIV cannot be cured...but it can be contained....

I know becoz my very very close buddy got it too and he only found out in Feb...I have been helping him and his family thru it all ....it sounds bad at first...but when u get more Proper info....u will know that if u take action, it can be helped...
