I just don't want to pay $0.44 USD per litre for 98 octane to the government as tax. This does NOT include the 7% GST paid on top of it.

On a more serious note though, these gasoline taxes to me are bad for the economy because it means everything will be increased overall at the end of the day. Here is some food for thought. SMRT increase (or has it increased) fares by 2.6%. But CPF only pay 2.5%. So basically if you ask me lor, it is quite blatant that governments are just trying to use inflation from get themselves out of debt lor. And sooner or later, they are kicking the can further down the road for someone else to solve and thus they will get into trouble. When things like that happen, I will tend to leave that economy because sooner or later u will end up losing money in that country. My two cents worth.
