First Love

I have been lurking Sammyboy on and off for a few years and finally decide to share my own little stories about love, life and sex (or lack of it!) in my life.

Utada Hikaru's music video "First Love" really sums up some of the feelings and memories of my first time making love to my first girlfriend.

Unlike many of the bros out there who first did it when they were 15, 17 or even 19-20. My first time was actually at the ripe "young" age of 26 and she was 24.

Here is rhys' story:

<<BACKGROUND>>

I grew up in a normal family. Both parents worked, had two older siblings and followed for most part of my life the typical Singapore "plan".

Studied for PSLE, O-levels, A-levels and got into NTU accountancy. As was the joke during university times, graduated with a double bachelors. I.e. Bachelor of Accountancy and being a bachelor, i.e. no girlfriend, farkbuddy or anything.

I am average looking, 1.69m but when younger was thinner and not very charismatic so didn't get much action or even boy-girl relationship.Dorky and damn "square" kwai kwai boy who was not into hanky panky. Even during JC times my CCA (or ECA then it was called) was LIBRARIAN and even other female librarians thought I was "square"!

After I started working and earning money, looking for a girlfriend so that I could look for a HDB flat was the next step in the "Singapore Plan" so I did what most socially inept chaps did, JOIN SDU or Social Development Unit.

Back then, there was still a little bit of stigma though my 30+ (now thinking back, they were MILF!) audit managers told me to go and join because there were more women and men of same age compared to 10 years ago when they first joined SDU. Back then SDU had men in their late 30s and early 40s and most of the women who joined were 20-early 30s. Hence, a number of them met and married spouses who were 8-10 years their senior.

Hence, I began my quest to find my girlfriend/wife/ticket to HDB flat via SDU and the adventure starts from this organisation.

SDU or Social Development Unit basically has its roots from MM Lee's belief in eugenics. Simply put, if graduate males marry graduate females, we will have more potential graduate babies thus helping to boost up SG's talent pool.

But then, we know that this concept while successful in getting more graduate women married to graduate men but they end up having fewer children. Thus our great pappish leadership's idea for the last 10 years has been to immigrate PRCs, Indians from India subcontinent and welcome ASEAN community of Indonesians, Philippinos, Thais, Myanmarese that in MRT/buses, easily 40-50% are non-Singaporeans.

But I go off tangent liao....

Really, for a "square" guy like me who although has no vices like smoking, drinking and even whoring (then), it was a good way to get involved in some ECA to find a potential girlfriend and later wife through SDU.

Initially, I joined a few activities to socialise, roller blading, wine appreciation, investment talks, cocktail making etc. They were a good way to spend weekends otherwise engrossed in playing computer games (PC), then no xbox yet and PS1 games were expensive. But not much progress, so I decided to try other things.

It happened that this was in 1997ish where internet access by Pacific, SingNet and Cyberway (now Starhub) ISPs were becoming more popular and having a modem at 9600 bps or 14400 bps was considered today's equivalent of having 1-2MB broadband. SDU published a type of personals or pen-pal type of column with email addresses and profile of members in their newsletter so that like-minded members can email each other and see if it leads to something more.

So I emailed a few ladies whose age were close to mine and starting to be electronic pen-pals with them. Managed to tcss via email with a few of them. Turned out 1 was a lady dentist who was the daughter of a colleague (small world!) while one would turn out to be my first love.

Sally (names have been changed to protect the innocent and not-so-innocent) was 23ish then and was working in the public sector. So was I then and we exchanged the usual tcss emails about work, hobbies, interests etc. Over 1-2 weeks of emailing, I plucked up the courage to ask for her number and call her to chit chat.

Talking to her was relatively easy as she had a nice voice and friendly manner. So we talked a few more times over the telephone before we arranged to meet up for coffee.

When I first saw her, I saw a smiling bespectacled girl with China-doll type of hair. She was quite fair, even fairer than me and I am quite fair for a guy (haha!) but what mermerised me was her lips. She had such nice lips that I later found out was so kissable.

Thinking back, it was almost 12 years ago and I can't even recall where was our first date. But I can definitely remember when was our first kiss....

Being the mountain tortoise|dork|square guy that I was. I had never kissed a girl in my life until I met Sally.

Looking back, sometimes I'm amazed at how pathetic I was back then. I guess being the youngest in the family of three with an elder sister and brother who were better academically that I was, I spent most of my student years actually studying and participating in CCAs. Chasing girls was never in my mind because I lacked confidence and thought girls would think I was so square.

But as fate (or in my case, thanks to MM Lee's grand plans to get graduates to marry graduates), SDU brought me to know Sally.

Her background was a little sad, in that she had lost her father when she was quite young under very tragic circumstances. I'll share more on that as it is a whole story by itself. But she was the eldest of three children by her mother. She had about six other older half-siblings, i.e. same mother but different father since her own father was her mother's second husband.

Sally and I got along well as I was the kwai kwai boy and took her on movie dates, hold hands and just walk around as a normal couple.

It was during one of these dates that we found ourselves walking along Clarke Quay near the old Victoria theatre. The marbled bench beckoned and we set together looking at the bumboats carrying tourists move up and down as the sun set and the sky darkened.

After chit chatting and saying how nice it was. I did the unthinkable and asked,

Me: Can I kiss you?
Sally: This type of thing no need to ask one lah, just go with feeling... [looking shyly at me through her glasses]

Me: [*paiseh* but proceeds to angle my head and meet her lips with mine.]

The feeling of the first kiss is unmistakeable. Her lips we so-so-so soft! Luckily, I was gentlemen enough to slowly lip her and to also try a bit of tongue... The sensations got my little bro leaking pre-cum inside my underwear. To be honest, that type of feeling is even better than pounding a pussy because it's the tenderness that cannot be re-captured again unless you find back your first or one true love.

We spent the next 15-20 minutes exploring each other lips and mouths. Of course, occasionally coming up for air or when we felt people were walking by. It was exciting, thrilling and very enjoyable time.

Thinking back, it brings back such warm memories but at the same time a bit of ache because I know that such times can never come by again.
