One thing I am amazed is the quality of Manu's no 7...From robson to cantona to beckham to ronaldo...7 has been consistent performer..wonder who manu's next no 7 gonna be?

For liverpool, i think its has always been the #9 jersey. erm for my era, #9 was worn by rush, den fowler, den cisse? (flop) .., torres. not sure is i missed any inbetween..

7,8,9,10 or even 11 are the common numbers worn by great players because during older days, the starting 11 can only wear number from 1-11 without names.

For me, the greatest #9 for Liverpool so far was Rush (Hopefully Torres can do better! )

Hopefully Ribery (but he has gone public with his admiration for Real Madrid, tough one there), other than the nos. 7,8,9,10,11, which are traditionally worn by the more offensive players, how bout the defensive players, like the legendary Baresi (Milan retired his #6 shirt, what an honour!) and Paolo Maldini (duno if Milan will do the same for his #3 shirt).

Personally, Roy Keane's no.16 stands out, his leadership and will to win is second to none (ok, sometimes he's a little crazy, but i'll have him in my team any time )
