Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
English Premier League Title, this should be the focus and priority for Reds, next season.
We have not win it since it was incorporated or changed. Kop has been waiting for very long liao,so i think next season,we should concentrate on EPL but at the same time,go as fas as we can in the CL (coz here is also where the revenue is)

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
As reported in the soccernet website, Villa boss Martin O'Neill has confirmed he has received an offer from Liverpool for current Villa skipper Gareth Barry.
He insisted that the Reds have made a player exchange offer for 27-year-old Barry, who has 2 yrs left of his currrent contract. Martin was understood to be interested in bringing Liverpool striker Peter Crouch back to Villa Park. If a cash-plus-players deal materialises,Scott Carson & John Arne Riise could also come into the equation. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
RAFA: NOT BAD, BUT COULD BE BETTER
As Liverpool prepare to bring the curtain down on their Anfield campaign against Manchester City this afternoon, manager Rafael Benitez has delivered his verdict on his side's season. The Reds have again proved themselves among the top teams in Europe by qualifying for the semi-finals of the Champions League whilst also finishing in the top four of the Premier League to ensure they will be competing alongside the continent's elite clubs again next season. Benitez is still frustrated by his team's narrow failure to reach Moscow at the expense of Chelsea, but despite ending the season with no silverware he insists it hasn't been a campaign to forget about. "Think about all the critics this season, saying you haven't won the title after 18 years. Who is at the top of the league? Chelsea and United. Who are the best teams in Europe? Chelsea and United. So to win the title here is more difficult than other countries. "I will do my best to be as high a possible and always I will do the same. I want to fight and improve and I will be fighting, I like to do it. I want to be closer and if I cannot people will say I can't win the title. It's the same situation. "I will try to improve. I have two more years and am really pleased here and want to win. Next season I want to be in another semi-final and do things better and be closer to the top of the table. "Maybe I will not be good enough but I will try. Working harder is the only way. "We've won the Champions League, FA Cup, been third and lost in a Champions League final in the last three years, so it's difficult if I'm asked if this is the most disappointing season. "If you analyse the league, it's not a bad season. But it could have been better. We felt we could win the league and we were closer to the other teams but if you look at the position now we are one step behind. But we are going forward. "That is the reason we need to do everything almost perfectly both in the market and during the season. "How much money have Chelsea and United spent for winning the title and being top of the league? You cannot go there in one season so you need to keep going and building the team. "Sometimes you spend money like on Torres, sometimes it's bringing in young players like Insua, Plessis, Nemeth and other young players." Think the Liverpool board should start to think about next season EPL title push & let Rafa get the transfer target in asap. Then we can hope that the next big signing will settle in like Torres & set the premiership alight. You Never Walk Alone....

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
![]() ![]() Liam Harker, the 17-year-old Liverpool fan whose battle against cancer captured the imagination of millions of Reds fans last month, tragically lost his fight for life just after 4pm on Monday May 5. Liam, a passionate Liverpool supporter from Darlington, made the homepage of the official club website on April 18 after his plight came to the attention of club staff. It was on this day that he was presented with a shirt signed by his heroes just hours after doctors admitted there was nothing more they could do to save his life. Liam only found out he was suffering from stomach cancer six weeks before after he was admitted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital in Newcastle. After being treated with an intensive course of radiotherapy, Liam was told on April 3 that he had beaten the cancer as the tumour had started to shrink. Things took a serious turn for the worse the following day when Liam became very ill however. X-Rays revealed that the cancer had not only returned, it had spread throughout his body. It was at this moment that his parents were told that more radiotherapy would only help prolong his life by a matter of weeks. Liam was then told he had just two weeks left to live and was allowed home to die. Macmillan nurses were on hand round the clock to help him and his family at this incredibly difficult time. Upon arriving home, Liam's wish to his dad was to spend his final days in a shirt signed by the players he idolises. He also asked his dad to bury him in a Liverpool shirt when he dies as he's lived and breathed Liverpool Football Club all his life. When news reached the club of Liam's plight, the youngster's dad was contacted and Liam was invited down to Melwood on Monday to not only pick up a signed shirt but also be taken on a tour of Melwood and meet not just the players but also Rafael Benitez. Unfortunately, Liam was advised by doctors that he wouldn't be able to make the trip to Liverpool due to his worsening condition as even short trips between his home and the hospital in Newcastle for radiotherapy sessions take too much out of the youngster. However, while Liam couldn't make the trip to Melwood to pick up the shirt, one arrived special delivery at his home in the North East from Liverpool complete with the autographs of all his heroes. News about Liam immediately touched a nerve with Reds fans everywhere and a plan was put into action to try and create a number of flags bearing Liam's name to showcase at the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea at Anfield. The hope was that TV cameras would pick out the flags and Liam, if he was still alive, would see them at home on TV. Liam was alive and the TV cameras did show the flags. It was an incredibly moving moment for Liam, his family and friends and Reds fans everywhere who had taken the 17-year-old to their heart. The flags were then sent to Liam and adorned the walls of his room in time for the second leg of the semi-final at Stamford Bridge (see above). Liverpool lost that match but for Liam's family, a far greater loss occurred today (Monday). Liam's suffering is now over however and our thoughts - and those of Liverpool supporters everywhere - go out to his family and those who really knew this remarkable young man. In his final dying days, Liam Harker didn't walk alone. ![]() ![]()

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
we will need to strengthen our squad with some new players esp on defenders if we want to win the EPL,next season.
Garry would be a great asset to us,if we can get him as he and Gerrard will work and play well together. i really hope that all the owner's issue can be settled b4 the begin of next season in Aug 2008. really hope the DIC will take control and inject some very badly needed funds for Rafa to strengthen his squad.
