The fetus at 1 month stage probably doesn't have sufficient consciousness to feel pain as would a baby. Now from a materialist standpoint, it might be better to end it here, in order to relieve it from future sufferings occasioned by a very inadequate mother and environment.

The moral reason against it is, God, who resides in every individual, is trying to attain to human form in order to attain better knowledge of itself, so that knowledge, in the face of the suffering world, might lead it out of Samsara to Nirvana. Abortion frustrates this aim, just like suicide. But how many attain to Nirvana out of many millions? So apart from this higher moral view, there's not much reason to keep the fetus.
