Just returned from a 5 week trip to these places. I also traveled to Brazil and in particular Rio De janeiro, but did not cheong there. So, nothing to report.

Santiago, Chile - Avoid cheonging in this place. This is an expensive city to begin with, and this surprised me. But the Chilean economy is doing well, and cost of living is getting up there compared to other major South American cities. Visited during their summer, which is to say Dec., last year. Wow, what can I say about this city. I had a lot of fun here. The exchange rate is good and everything is quite affordable. Actually, I am returning to South America in Dec. I will try some other cities like Lima, Peru and report on the scene there when I get back. As for organizing a trip for pooning, for sure. But I received some feedback that budget wise, its beyond many of the locals.
