Do they usually exercise any reasonable diligence to make sure you have not fake your registration like check your ic ?

As seen from the rules, you don't have to provide mobile number. Only Name and IC.

Still, no reasons are given as to why they need to take down client name and ic. in case the ML provide sexual service and got caught , the police will still ask you for your ic. what if 1/2 a year later the anti vice caught the ML providing sexual service, is the police going to dig out all the records to see who she has serviced and get you back to assist in investigation ??? lol

Based on the above. As long as the info entered is reasonably accurate. The spa is not penalized. As long as someone don’t enter tan ah kow, s9999999a. Or fuck you cb, s12345678a. Then no issues. As long as the name and ic “looks” ok. If someone chut pattern and use the above examples. Then the spa has the right to ask the patron for accurate info.

Basically ts has no case. And mobile phone is definitely not necessary.

No bro, as I replied to another bro’s thread, this regulation does not apply to when there’s a legal requirement to collect NRIC, like the MP Act.

The new ruling is to stop supermarkets from using contests to gather your personal data n sell to, say a marketing company.

Bro, it's more than that, not just supermarket colleting data for lucky draw.

there are also many organisations and businesses requiring you to provide NRIC when you interact with them. with these rules in place , they will not be allowed to do so.

yes , MPs may be required by "Law" to collect NRIC. but it's not known how these MPs keep the data safe and what they do with it. I will write to PDPC and ask them about this. see what is their reply.

as i have mentioned before, NRIC, name and date of birth are all sensitive data in these digital age. they can easily be used for fraud if your particulars are in the wrong hands.

yes, openly displaying all the customer registration info is actually contravening of the PDPC act.

when i went to courts to buy stuff and they need to zap our IC, and if they are caught with those photocopied info lying around, they can be fined. these retailers will no longer be allowed to zap our IC for whatever reasons.
