Emperor Xian and his family was notified of the recent victory and invitation to the garden afternoon feast by Guo Jia, Head of Imperial Household Agency.

When the time came, many horse carriages escorted by Man Chong and his men arrived at palace. Emperor and his family, accompanied by Chief Enunch , Snr Eunuch Ma Ping , and palace ladies walked to the carriages.

Emperor and his consorts , sat in grand carriage pulled by 3 horses, Dong Cheng sat in sedan chair carried by 2 persons, and the rest walked on foot ,flanked by soldiers on foots, Man Chong and his assistant rode on horse.

On the way to the garden feast, many people on roadside kneeled on shouting ''long live your majesty!''

Within hour, the group arrived at the destination and Imperial family stepped out and walked to the garden accompanied by officers and servants.

Then enunch arrived and announced the arrival of Imperial family.

Cao Cao and his men step out of the seats and kneel and bowed with hands spread and then head and hands touched the floor, shouting '' wan sui, wan sui, wan wan sui!"

Emperor walked to the throne, and sat down , flanked by Empress Fu and Imperial Consort Dong , Chief Eunuch and Snr Enunch Ma Ping stand side by side at the stair case.

Emperor Xian told all officials to rise.

All officials rise and thanked the emperor , then went back to their respective seats.
Cao Cao then announced the victories of Han Imperial forces over the rebel Lu Bu. and gave thanks to Guo Jia that government troops suffered zero casualities. Souls of the dead , including Lu Bu be appeased by posthumerous awards. Lu Bu be given baron and his men be given 3 grades increment in rank.
Emperor gave assent.
Cao Cao then proposed that Guo Jia be given the post of Military Libationer. and special forces of 20 men be given awards. Leader be given the rank of colonel and 19 men be given 3 grades higher in rank and pay increment.
Emperor assented.
Cao Cao then went back to his seat ,and was about to give order for meal to be served. and Hua Xin shouted '' hold on.''
Man Chong looked at him intently,wondering what this junior civilian up to.
Hua Xin, stood in front of Emperor, bowing , then stated Marquis Cao be given promotion to Duke of Wei, and his fief be given extra lands.
This caused uproar among Cao Cao's generals and advisors who hold the rank of Han dynasty officials. Cao Cao look surprised. Cao Pi, Cao Zhi, Cao Zhang , and Cao Jie, Lady Bian supported this petition as this would boost their positions. Cao Ren and generals seconded that.
only Dong Cheng , Kong Rong, and few conservative Han officials opposed this move.
Emperor seeing the majority say aye. gave his assent to promotion of Cao Cao to Duke of Wei.
Dong Cheng felt worried as this might make Emperor puppet under Cao Cao.

Cao Cao gave thanks to Emperor and look at this bootlicker Hua Xin, promised to give him rewards.
Then meal served.

Pork soup with wanton meat (also pork) and peas were served.
Emperor Xian tasted the soup and said yummy..

this make Guo Jia , Man Chong and Xun Yu bemused and they all wonder why that night Emperor said no to pork.

Then half roasted piglet was served with rice , veggie to all officials.
Emperor smelled the slice of piglet and said the fragnance was heavenly and filled the air.
Ma Ping as veiled enunch felt so naseus and then bowed to Emperor asking for permission to go toilet.
Man Chong looked at Ma Ping and wondered why he behaved like that.

Emperor ate the fill happily and then nuerhong wine with red date was served. and Emperor drank the wine.
Cao Ren look at emperor and wonder why he refused to drink exquiste wine that night
Banquet over and Emperor retired for late afternoon.
all senior Cao Cao's men made remark about Tian Zi (son of heaven) change in appetite, temperament.,

(at night , Emperor Xian coughed blood, knowing he was dying, asking Ma Ping to ascend the throne in discreet manner.. Tarma of Empress and Consort with Ma Ping , as dying emperor watched before he died. Fire in palace...)

At night, Emperor Xian's coughing worsen and he coughed with all his might, and spit out blood , he then knew that his time was up.
He asked chief enunch who came and kneeled before him.

Emperor : pls ask Ma Ping, Dong Cheng, Empress and Imperial Consort to see me immediately. It must be done discreetly and Cao Cao must not know this..
Chief Enunch weeped and said ''Yes, Your majesty.''
He then went out to their individual rooms.
They went to see Emperor immediately.

They were saddened to see Emperor so pale and coughing.

Empress and consort weeped , Ma Ping was sad to see his elder twin brother in this state.
Emperor : i know I am dying soon. It is sad to Han Empire so divided and disunited. selfish feudal lords fighting among themselves to increase lands for themselves. I cannot trust that Cao Cao. I felt that he had usurped Han empire from me..''

Dong Cheng and Ma Ping began to cry.
Emperor: Liu Ping, my dear brother, you have to succeed me as Emperor. and fight against Cao Cao and feudal lords to unity the lands under Han .Do not let our ancestor , Han Gaozu (Liu Bang- 1st emperor of Han Dynasty) down.. (cough cough)
Then he looked at Dong Cheng...
Emperor : my dear father in law, when I died, pls assist my young brother in achieving unity of Han Empire and make this empire great again. It is great ancestor's wish that Han Empire must reign longer than Zhou Dynasty.
Dong Cheng weeping; yes, Your majesty.
Emperor: when I died, pls swopped my clothes with that of my younger bro.and castrated me, and burn my body . You may burn down this damm palace .
Dong cheng and the rest understood.
Emperor then asked Dong Cheng to leave the room to make preparation for this palace to be burned down.

Dong Cheng then leave with chief enunch ..
Emperor then looked at his brother and empress and consort..
Emperor : both of you, greeted him as Emperor.
Both ladies then kneeled before Ma Ping addressed him as His Majesty.

Emperor : now consumate your marriage with him

Both ladies then undressed and Ma Ping was shocked and shutted his eyes, murmmuring some religious verses.
Ma Ping clothes were removed one by one...

Consort frenched Ma Ping.
Emperor Xian look excited, then his vision blurred , eventually darkened.

Empress , after dressing up, removing late Emperor clothing, castrate him and dress him in an enunch's clothes. Ma Ping wore emperor's clothes.

Eventually, the men in black began to attack the guard post and storming the palace. and Imperial Guards then engaged battle with men in black.

Empress then set fire and let it flame faster.
Guards looked and shouted.

Guards began to put on fire and Empress, Ma Ping, Consort came out , acting shocked .

Guards began to surround them and escort them to safe place.
Dong Cheng and chief eunuch was escorted out.
Dong Cheng looked at fire, and weeped, because Emperor Xian was burnt
then Cao Cao was alert by his attendent.

He immediately rushed to the scene with his army.

He then kneel before Ma Ping ,asking whether he was alright.
Next day, Cao Cao ordered Guo Jia to investigate and he was assisted by Man Chong.

Ma Ping as Emperor Xian had to attend court session where all officials show concern for him. Cao Cao then asked Emperor to accept the setting up of commission to investigate fire incident.
Ma Ping was on his own, think hard , there is no throne for Empress Fu because females were not allowed to participate in court affairs.
Ma Ping assent to this request.
Cao Cao then summoned Guo Jia and Man Chong , appointing them as the persons in charge of investigation.

Guo Jia and Man Chong kneel before Emperor and accept the appointments and thank His Majesty.
Then Guo Jia look around, and saw Dong Cheng look worried.

Then court adjourned.

Ma Ping returned to Inner Palace to seek solace with sisters-in-law, told them about his fear.

Empress Fu told him not to worry.
Then Dong Cheng arrived to see them.
They discussed among themselves on how to solve this problems.

Eunuch then arrived with breakfast.
Pork bun with jasmine tea.
Ma Ping then told the enunch not to serve any more pork dish.
Enunch looked at him strangely. Empress told that enunch to serve pork dish and wine daily. Ma Ping turned to look Empress , who glared at him fiercely.
Dong Cheng then asked the enunch to leave.

Empress told Ma Ping that he is now emperor Xian of Han. and he must forego his former religion.
Ma Ping shook his head , no...no..
Empress told him not to arouse suspicions. as Cao Cao's men were all brilliant advisors and pork was Central Realm's food of necessary and His Late Majesty (Emperor Xian) love pork and wine. everyone knew that.
Empress then told Ma ping to learn to eat pork and drink wine.

Eunuch walked from inner palace to kitchen mumbling to himself about emperor's strange decision.
He bumped into Man Chong, who then asked him what he mumbling..

Eunuch was shocked to see Man Chong who was the head of secret police and told him about His Majesty bizzare behaviour and his behaviour was quite similar to veiled enunch who don't take pork.
Man Chong then shared his findings with Guo Jia.
Guo Jia, felt something amiss about fire and plan to seek audience with Imperial family...

Eunuch announced:" Director of Imperial Household Agency, Guo Jia , wishes to seek audience with His and Her Majesties''.

Ma Ping and Empress Fu were frightened, they nevertheless get dressed in proper attire and went to hall, accompanied by chief enunch , enunch and palace maids.

Guo Jia and Man Chong kneeled before the ''rulers'' and Ma Ping asked to rise.

Guo Jia asked them how did the fire start when all efforts by builders to make this new palace fire resistant.

Ma Ping expression look wierd and he keep looking at Empress Fu.
Man Chong found him suspicious.
Empress Fu then told him that during assasination attempt on our emperor, few assasins used fire arrow to kill His Majesty and this brave senior enunch , Ma Ping , attempt to save HIs Majesty by using his body to block the arrows
that's how fir start.
Man Chong felt not convinced.
and he asked about Ma Ping and his life.
Chief enunch told him that Ma Ping was an orphan and his family was poor and they sold him to me and i let him serve His Majesty.
Man Chong then asked how his face get disfigured.
Chief Enunch : he was disfigured by burn.
Man Chong: what was the incident like?
Chief Enunch look lost for the moment.
Guo Jia, felt suspicious and said never mind. I have a gift for His Majesty..

He ordered his attendent to bring a cup of strong wine and present to Ma Ping.
Ma Ping hestiant and looked at empress . Empress eye nudge him to drink.

Guo Jia and Man Chong looked at each other and nodded.
They decided to kidnap Chief Eunuch and get the truth..

In the meantime, Cao Cao need good ore and gold fields which was found in the region where a ruler with same religions as Ma Ping reign.
Guo Jia and Xun Yu and other advisors strongly advise Cao Cao to annex this territory to get ore and metals to build weaponry and ships for conquest of Yuan Zhao and future annexattion of East Wu which is protected by large river, therefore naval forces be strengthened to combat East Wu which was a naval power among warlord states.

Xun Yu present this paper to ''Emperor'' for approval.

Ma Ping went thru this and vetoed against it. because his religion preached the brotherhood of people with same religions.
Xun Yu looked at Ma Ping angrily and reminded him that if not for Cao Cao, latter will be starving now.
Ma Ping looked at him saying he should respect Emperor.
Both of them had a staring match till Xun Yu decided to report to Cao Cao.
Guo Jia then asked Imperial Household Agency to withhold budget to make Ma Ping and Empress realised that they were just puppets.

Ma Ping after few days, decided to reach compromise with Cao Cao..

Ma Ping wanted him to show mercy to those people. Cao Cao nodded and Guo Jia felt something amiss. and sent scout to find out more about the people in this region..

Scout explored the place , and found the folk not in Han clothings, the people rear goat, chicken, duck , cow for food and horse for sales, and the eateries there don't serve wine and pork.
They were extremely religious people, and practise a religion which was alien to Hans .

He then left the area and reach Xucheng few days later to see Guo Jia.
He told Guo Jia about the findings.

Cao Cao decided to lead his force , assisted by Cao Hong and Cao Ren, military adviser is Cheng Yu, but Guo Jia remained in Xucheng, studying map, and read and send report to Cao Cao by express scout- messager rode in fast horse.
At night, Man Chong sent his men to kidnap chief enunch and brought him to camp where he was questioned, whipped and tortured by Man Chong. but he refused to budge ,remain loyal to his Late majesty.
Next day, Ma Ping woke up and found that chief enunch was missing and issue summon.
Everyone in inner palace don't know where he was.

Few days later, Cao Cao launched attack on the region and eventually conquered it.

Cao Ren set up post where every citizen lined up and registered and questioned by military officers.
At night , Cao Hong led his own force to ransack people home, raped girls and took young children, and captured male prisoners.
Chunhua was raped by Cao Hong and her hubby Ma Yi , a witch doctor, swore revenge..

He went to Cao Ren military post and registered himself, saying he took care of horse and his name is Sima Yi.

(in future, Sima Yi would wreck havoc on Cao Pi thru witch craft...)
