Forgive me for asking this if it's a stupid question, but if I want to avoid drama or not be seen as yet another potential source of drama as a single man in a nightclub, would I NOT want to be in a nightclub then?
The whole nightclub scene is just one huge drama fest of one-upmanship exactly as you describe. I personally hate that kind of toxic masculinity atmosphere where in order to get girls you inevitably have to be drawn into guy-on-guy bloodsport to flash money through alcohol, acting alpha, and dressing up/bling. Even if you go into a nightclub trying to be the "elder statesman" type amongst a sea of boys, more often than not the girls who supposedly "hate/avoid young boys drama" would simply pass you over if you're the kind to sit back, be quietly confident and self-assured, and not try to pick up girls by acting/being rich and flashy in a nightclub.
Just my thoughts and question from my personal exp. If I'm going to spend 2 to 5k in a single night out drinking, I rather do it somewhere nicer with better quality alcohol and atmosphere like say Atlas.
I think there might be some flaws in this logic, what the above seems to suggest is that people go to nightclubs for drama. While drama inevitably happens in such a scenario, it is also avoidable. Forgive me if this was misinterpreted.
From my own personal experience, after I got to a certain level of disposable income, our clique retired from the dance floors and decided on tables instead, what was intended to be a chill "sit back and enjoy the vibe" type of moment, turned out quite differently . We had girls-strangers, coming to our table for drinks, most sat next to us which was when we began engaging in meaningless conversations and handgestures. We summoned the bouncers to remove the others who were just lingering around. None of us went to the dance floor, and nobody invited them over. They just came.
When Marquee closed, the girls followed us Lunar for another round of partying. There were 5 of them and about 4 of us. We each went home with a girl that night. The oldest of us 5, a 56 year old gentle man, went home with the prettier of the 5 girls.
To be fair, this doesn't happen a 100% of the time, and when we go "Clubbing" as one would call it, it would simply be for the fun of it and not to deliberately hunt. If it happens, it happens, and it's mostly in the range of about 50% of the time.

Ahh okay I see. Thanks for explaining!

Stay home & wank better
To the others, the thing of gals coming over uninvited, means Marquee is NOT a top end club....cos that would never happen, if one is a real player, one is in an exclusive area and the GRO/aka ^bouncer^ would never admit them.

Just saying
the thread is about picking girls up from marque, not if marquee is highend. have u also been to marquee lately, it looks like a second zouk. Everybody in the mainlines are YPs, probably ard 25 abd under. why go to exclusive area, where girls are not admitted in, then that defeats the purpose right of picking up girls at marquee right?
buy some Balenciaga, Off-White, Dior, LV, Gucci t-shirts and jeans.
Shoes can try Alexander McQueen, Christian Louboutin, Gucci, LV.
more in/collector stuff, go Dempsey Dover Street Market.
Mix and match and see if you wear the clothes or the clothes wear you. Remember to buy parfam/cologne, not eau de toilette.
Most important thing, remember to buy branded underwear. Later you get the girl, she strip you and see Crocodile or Uniqlo, she sian half. Calvin Klein and Versace would be good choice.
Get a nice haircut and a nice watch. No Rolex ? Hublot, IWC, Zenith are good choice.
Train to drink champagne at home. If you can finish 3-5 bottles in a 4-5 hours setting yourself and not drunk, u're good to go!
Say no to drink driving, best is can get a room with the city view at MBS.
wah now girls are realistic... haix find one true love also hard

I was there recently with a few friends for a hens night and after my experience there, I’d rather not go back there again. We were consistently being approached by foreign guys while we were on the dance floor. One of them even started to try his luck by grinding on me. Went back to sit down, and a bunch of Indian men came over and sat next to us and started to treat us like sluts, touching my friends leg and asking for our numbers and to follow them back to their rooms. The only good thing about the club is the bouncers are quick and there’s always one nearby.. and also a few nice guys who are not there just to go fishing, but look after us. Exchanged a few numbers, but I’ll settle down with The Ballroom in future
The Ferris wheel and slides were fun tho :-P

Sharing perspective from a 30s guy. When it’s true guys around our age group have deeper pockets to spend. We often start yawning & feel tired before the guest DJ appear.
Most of the elegant ladies you see around the vip table are “social worker” that we engage to go clubs with us for “entertainment purposes” if you get what I mean. We basically avoid the squeezy dance floor.. it’s like a mine field to us.. you never know who’s puke you going step on or smell some guy’s BO.
Personally I feel there’s better hit rate at Ce La Vi than Marquee.. but not sure about other guys around same age group. Manage to score a few “international” & “domestic” Hotwives there…

Last time when I was there, friends and I observed foreign guys approaching local ladies. We joked among ourselves that foreign guys are more daring than local guys at approaching local ladies, leading us to dare each other to approach ladies. All of us didn't manage to summon our courage except for one friend who waved and smiled to a lady and her friend. They both waved and smiled back but he didn't follow up. #clubbingadventures
